Actually, this is very simple. If you right click on the left end o=
f
the toolbar, a menu will pop out, and simply deselect the top optio=
n
("visible").

Is there a way to turn off the task bar in Fluxbox? I know I can
hide it...but that doesn't seem very efficient when I want to
try out another task bar, such as tint2.
Thanks
=C2=A0 =C2=A0 Yeah, that makes it invisible, but it's still running.=
..something
I wanted to avoid...but it appears there is now way, short of
modifying and recompiling Fluxbox.
What about the init file? in the init file (in the .fluxbox folder),
session.screen0.toolbar.tools: =C2=A0 =C2=A0 =C2=A0workspacename, prev=
workspace,
nextworkspace, iconbar, clock, systemtray #prevwindow, #nextwindow,
#clock #systemtray
All this is in one line, and you could try to simply put nothing behin=
d
This could work. Another idea: what about deleting all lines with whic=
h
start with ...toolbar?
I am just wondering - if you don't put anything in the toolbar, why do
you care if it is running?
=C2=A0 =C2=A0Just seems rather inefficient to me to have Flux running a
toolbar, but making it invisible...and running another toolbar on top.
I'll try your suggestions and see what happens.
=C2=A0 Nope no go. Flux notes in the xsession-errors file it failed to
read toolbar...and iconbar and just fills in default values.
I'll try recompiling next.
Thanks
