Folks,

I recently discovered that the pager I use with fluxbox, fluxter, no longer
worked with fluxbox version 1.1.0. I have since hacked at fluxter so that
it now works (mostly) with the fluxbox implementation of EWMH.

I have tried to contact the maintainer, Steven Cooper, but his posted email
address is no longer valid. So, if no maintainer comes forward, and people
would find it useful, I'm happy to take on maintenance of fluxter going
forward.

Regards,
Mark Willson

Folks,

Following on from my earlier message, fluxter 0.2.0 is available for
download from http://www.hydrus.org.uk/downloads/fluxter-0.2.0.tar.gz.
This version has been tested with fluxbox 0.9.14 (on Debian Etch) and
fluxbox 1.1.0 (on FreeBSD 7-STABLE).

Thanks!

About 1,5 years ago i manage to talk with the original fluxter
author and he said that he didnt used fluxbox anymore and so he didnt
wanted to do anything more with fluxter.

At the time, he said that fluxter was a hack, had several
problems, (including a memory leak) and suggest using fbpager
instead... Of course, now, fbpager dont work with fluxbox :)

I like more the options given from fluxter (its good to use it
again), but can you check fbpager to see which have better code and
decide which is the better pager? Of course, if fbpager wins, please
also fix what broke with the last fluxbox release ;)

Again, thanks for fixing fluxter

Naturally the common people don't want war... but after all it is the
leaders of a country who determine the policy, and it is always a
simple matter to drag the people along, whether it is a democracy, or
a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship.
Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of
the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are
being attacked, and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and
exposing the country to danger. It works the same in every country.

Higuita,

Thanks for the information.

There is certainly a lot of old blackbox code in fluxter, some of which may
be unused, but I haven't gone through it in detail. However, I did clean up
some of the code related to blackbox message handling and removed a
redundant class. When I have a bit more spare time, I'll have a look at
fbpager.

Thanks,
