Hi,
I have just installed Fedora 15 with fluxbox and thunderbird (6.0.2)
from yum.
I can hear the sound but not the alert.

In fedora 10 with fluxbox, everything worked.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Massimo

To be more precise:
<Loading Image...> I'm not
interested in the icon on sysTray. I would like to have again the
"windows alert":
<Loading Image...

Thanks for you help,
M

All the data continuously generated in your IT infrastructure contains a
definitive record of customers, application performance, security
threats, fraudulent activity and more. Splunk takes this data and makes
sense of it. Business sense. IT sense. Common sense.

A guy at thunderbird forum suggested me to install one of those package:

Kdocker <http://kdocker.sourceforge.net/> , Kbiff
<http://www.kbiff.org/>, GnuBiff <http://gnubiff.sourceforge.net/>, and
Mail Notification <http://www.nongnu.org/mailnotify/> are examples of
email notification programs that can use the system tray.

I tried with kbiff but it does not work.

Any suggestions?

I think it is something related to fluxbox. If I use the gnome I get the
notification.

I have tried to install alltray with no luck.

Any suggestion?

Are you referring to the popup messages when a new mail arrives? I use
avant (awn) with the notification daemon applet installed - works for me
