Hi all,

I have some applications which appear as icons on the taskbar but which would
be better on the iconbar. I do '[IconHidden]IconHidden{yes}' in the apps file
to remove the icon on the taskbar. But how do I make it appear on the iconbar?
Any ideas?

Many thanx. Best,
Mike

in fluxbox there is only "one" bar: the toolbar. the toolbar contains
several tools such as "a clock", "current workspace name", "icons" and
"system tray". the "icons" tool is used to display (depending on its
configuration) minimized windows. the "system tray" is used to provide
a little area for "applets" which draw their small "applet icon" to
(eg, pidgin or psi or opera etc).

so, these are the "official" terms of what kind of "bars" and tools we have.

my guess is, that your "taskbar" is the "icon tool" and that your
"iconbar" is the "system tray", but that is just a wild guess.

it would be very helpful to provide some info about what you want in
"official" terms. could you do that?

cheers,
mathias

Hi Mathias,

thanks for your reply and for the details on fluxbox panel terminology.
Your guess is correct, I want to define certain apps to appear on the
system tray. They shouldn't appear on the icons toolbar for minimized
windows.

Is there any way to define this in the .fluxbox/apps file or anywhere
else?

Thanks in advance for any hints.
Best,
Mike

i would try "alltray":

that should help.
