[Fluxbox-users] java application minimized mysteriously (ibm-jre-1.5.0)

Hello.

Am I the only person who have problem with java application suddenly
mysteriously minimized into task bar?

This is not always reproducible but it's easy to reproduce it:

1. Open a java application that has a dialog (almost all java
applications has a dialog, e.g. "File Open" dialog). My example is
to use freemind and to edit a node value in a dialog.
2. At the moment the dialog pops up, both the main application window
and the dialog immediately minimized to task bar;
3. if you click either the main window or the dialog in task bar,
hoping to restore the windows, then the window being clicked would
restore and immediately (after 1/10 seconds maybe) minimized again;
4. The only think you can do is to right click the dialog in the task
bar, select to close it, then click the main window, then it
restores. which means, such "sudden minimize" only happen if an
application has more than one window (e.g. a main window and a
dialog);

I had been suffering from this problem for several years now.
environment: ibook/ppc, ibm-jre-1.5.0. Does anyone else suffer from this
problem?

Best regards

Hello.

mysteriously minimized into task bar?
Actually not - I experienced the same problem, but it disappeared
after an upgrade (don't remember which - sorry).

My setup:
- Xubuntu Hardy Heron
- Fluxbox 1.0.0.3
- java:
java version "1.6.0_07"
Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.6.0_07-b06)
Java HotSpot(TM) Server VM (build 10.0-b23, mixed mode)

Cheers

Rainer

I guess it's the JRE upgrading to 1.6.0 fixed it. However I couldn't do
so because some of my java apps break in 1.6.0.

I have upgraded to fluxbox 1.1.1 and see what happens. If it's solved or
not solved I'll post after a few days.
