[Fluxbox-users] fbpager doesn't show up any more

hi,

with the recent version of fluxbox (Fluxbox 1.1.0-gentoo-r1),
fbpager (FbPager 0.1.4) doesn't show up any more.

Confusing, it seems that fbpager is placed invisible
at the top of the desktop.

I tested with the default configuration of fbpager.

yes, i had problems with fbpager too, it does appear but shows no
window and dont show the selected workspace, although it can still be
used to select the desired workspace

i browsed through fluxbox wiki and it says fbpager is "not maintained".

I tested with the default configuration of fbpager.

i haven't done much testing, as i need this pc so i can work and i
miss the pager so much, so i switched back to fluxbox 1.0.0. also,
1.1.0 was too slow =\

i would try ipager but couldn't get it to compile. neither bbpager.
they have too much dependencies, i like better fbpager anyway.

any hint will be appreciated!

Hello! I tried fbpager, I don't usually use it but I want to help you.
I use fluxbuntu 7.10 and I compile de new version 1.1.0.1 and install
it overriding the last 1.0.0.0

If this helps try this command at console:
fbpager -sr >> ~/.fluxbox/fbpager

this will output all the configuration the program has by default to
the personal file .fluxbox/fbpager... open it with a text editor, then,
find this entry: "fbpager.icons: false" change it to "fbpager.icons:
true".

Also, you can put others colours, change sizes, etc.

Try changing the entry: "fbpager.currentBackgroundColor:
lightgray" to "fbpager.currentBackgroundColor: green" or another
visible colour if shows the workspace.

Maybe it work...

well i finally have the time to try it out, and now we have a new
fluxbox realease so here we go...
unfortunately it won't work, even with a brand new fluxbox and fbpager
config and followed what you said and it won't work...
what happens is that fbpager can be used to change workspace but it
won't show any window, neither will it show which is the current
workspace.
it seems fbpager can't get info from fluxbox anymore, though it can
'send' commands....

i wonder if it's planned to get fixed on future (maybe stable)
releases... i can't find such a simple yet functional pager, in the
very way fluxbox intends to be.

and thanks devels for the new 1.1.1 which now is usable as it switches
workspaces faster =D
